Above & Beyond

The following reports from patients and family members reaffirm our staff’s commitment
to putting our patients’ needs first. Please take a minute to say THANKS!

A story shared by Julie Hospodor about the deep appreciation earned by Trish Pinheiro and the DIC team, from a longtime UM Shore Regional Health patient:
“Mr. Lesser called left a voice mail for me today and then later called back and actually spoke to me about Trish and the DIC in general.  He is an almost 90 year old who has recently lost his wife after an illness and is in pretty ill health himself.  He does not really have anyone.  He needed to reschedule an MRI and was really confused and asked if Trish could help him. She called me and I felt it was appropriate to help him with the medical needs.  She took him to a private place and helped him make a call to the pharmacy for the meds he needed for the MRI and also a call to Community Wide Scheduling to set up the MRI.  He was overwhelmed at the kindness and, in his words, “the love” that she showed to him in his moment of need.  He recognized that she was going beyond her normal work and thankful that she cared enough to help. He wanted to make sure her supervisors knew what a wonderful person she was to do that for him.  He had praise for the whole group, too, for their patience and caring of their patients. ”

My Shore Home Care team was excellent! Diana Miller and Charlie Moore were very good at showing me what to do and explaining about medicines, exercise, etc.

BEST hospital experience to date in Telemetry in UM Shore Medical Center at Easton! Comfortable room. Shockingly good food options, even for someone on a restricted diet with allergies, the nurses were wonderful and on-point & my doctors were good, as well.

Very pleasant, everyone during my stay at UM SMC at Easton was really concerned about how I was feeling physically and mentally . Also, an aide named Ms. Ellie is the sweetest person and I feel she needs some special recognition for her work. She’s had me as a patient many times before and she is as sweet now as she was then. She told me she’s worked there for 31 years. Kudos Ms. Ellie.

The registrar in the lab at UM SMC at Chestertown was friendly and very professional. The person drawing my blood made me feel totally at ease and the experience was a good one. Waiting area and the room I was put in were very clean.  I recommend this facility to everyone because I always feel welcome here.
