Nurse Excellence Awards Nominations Open Until April 25

The 2024 Nurse Excellence Awards Celebration is set for May 6 — Reception at 5 p.m. and Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. — in the Todd Performing Arts Center at Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, Maryland. Now is the time for nominations!

Purpose: Recognition of a nurse’s exemplary skills, dedication, and compassion in nursing practice.

Eligibility: Any UM SRH clinical (direct care) nurse. The leadership category does include a nurse manager and the preceptor/mentor/educator category includes a nurse educator.

Process: Any UM SRH team member may submit a nomination, by visiting this link:

Nominations will be reviewed by a panel of judges comprised of SRH team members and community members. Award recipients will be selected based on the information provided in the nomination description section on the form. The award recipients per category are then evaluated to determine the Nurse of the Year recipient. Information that could identify the nominee is removed from the information sent to the judge panel.

Award: The category award nominees will be announced April 29 and recipients of the category awards and Nurse of the Year will be announced at the Nurse Excellence Awards Celebration on May 6.

Instructions: Access nomination form by link or QR code. Complete required fields. DO NOT use the NOMINEE’S NAME or UNIT NAME when writing details in the NOMINATION DESCRIPTION. Use NOMINEE instead of name and UNIT instead of unit name. Please cite specific examples. Scoring is based solely on the information in the nomination description. You cannot save and return to the form. Incomplete entries will not be sent to the judge panel.
