Great work continues on the development of the New Regional Medical Center project.
During the course of schematic design phase 3, August 1-3, 2023, a total of 29 meetings and two open houses were held in order to further advance the design of the new facility. By the end of day three, 80% of the the department and public space areas had been signed off by their user groups. Work will continue this coming week to finalize the others.
The project’s Program Management team, Covalus will use the approved concepts to continue work with the building architects at HKS to create plans to be further scrutinized by SRH user groups during the first phase of design development beginning on October 3, 2023.
Project steering committee members have been very pleased with the engagement and overall participation of Shore Regional Health’s front-line staff. The time that everyone has dedicated to in-person meetings has allowed frequent sidebar or breakout conversations to occur seamlessly when specific details needed to be scrutinized.
Two medical staff open houses provided opportunities for similar feedback to be provided by medical providers. These, too, have facilitated robust conversations about operations and flow in different areas of the building.
