Blackshire Honored with Kent County Martin Luther King, Jr. Award

Congratulations to Naomi Blackshire, president of Chester River Hospital Auxiliary Unit II, on receiving the Kent County Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanitarian Award, in recognition of her significant contributions to the quality of life in Kent County, MD. The award was presented at the 2018 Martin Luther King Breakfast held at the Rock Hall Fire Hall on January 21, 2019.

According to Maryann Ruehrmund, executive director, UM Chester River Health Foundation, CRH Auxiliary Unit II has donated nearly $40,000 since 1991 in support of patient care at UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown.

“We are very grateful for Naomi’s leadership and dedication to our hospital and pleased that she has received this well-deserved honor,” commented Ruehrmund, who is the administrative liaison to the Unit II Auxiliary.
