Elmyra V. Encarnacion, MD

University of Maryland Community Medical Group (UM CMG) has welcomed neurologist Elmyra V. Encarnacion, MD to UM CMG – Neurology and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Encarnacion’s subspecialties include movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, other Parkinsonian syndromes, tremor syndromes, tics, and myoclonus and gait disorders.

Dr. Encarnacion earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and her medical degree from St. George’s University Medical School in Grenada. She completed an internship in Internal Medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital/Columbia University Medical School in New York, and then a Neurology residency at the Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. She then went on to complete a fellowship in Movement Disorders at the University of South Florida and National Institutes of Health.

Presently, Dr. Encarnacion is seeing patients in Easton, Queenstown and Cambridge; she will be seeing patients in Chestertown once the transition to Portfolio EPIC is complete.
