HR News You Can Use: New Health Insurance Cards and Internet Access

As Open Enrollment has come to a close, please be on the lookout for your new insurance benefit ID card that will soon arrive by mail. This card will be effective July 1, 2018. Your ID card for the current plan year will not be active past June 30.

Please note that you can also print your ID card by clicking, “My Benefits” on HRConnections.

As a reminder, below are instructions on how to create a new CareFirst Administrators account. If you received a new Member number you must create a new account in order to view your 2018-2019 plan year claims information.

Finally, please review your July 13 paycheck to ensure that your new healthcare deductions were posted accurately. If you have any questions or need assistance, please call the HRConnections Service Center at 1-855-486-6747.

Easy Internet Access to Your Claims Information

HOW TO REGISTER AND CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT

1. Go to www.cfablue.com.

2. Select the Members option on the top left side of the screen.

3. Click on To access your client information click here.

4. Click Register New User.

5. Enter your chosen username, email address and type of user, and then click Submit.

6. Verify your identity by providing requested information (participant ID, participant last
name, participant zip/postal code, participant date of birth), and then click Next.

7. Establish your Password, and then click Submit.

HOW TO SELECT THE OPTION FOR OPTION FOR PAPERLESS EOBs

1. After logging into your account, click the Change Email option on the top of the screen.

2. Enter your correct email address.

3. Choose the “Yes, I agree to have electronic EOB notification” option.

4. Click Submit.

HOW TO VIEW YOUR PERSONAL CLAIMS 

1. Click on Status to the left of the screen and choose Claims History from dropdown
options.

2. A default start date will appear under your participant ID and group. Enter the date for a
specific claim you would like to review, or leave the default date in place and click the
Submit button.

3. A list of claims will be produced beginning with the date entered and any thereafter.

4. The Accumulators drop down located above the list of claims will allow you to view claims
by category (medical, dental and vision), your year-to-date deductibles and out of pocket spending.
