Dorchester Auxiliary's Robin Hood Shop Celebrates New Showroom Opening

Volunteers, staff, friends and fans of the Dorchester Auxiliary’s Robin Hood Shop in downtown Cambridge braved blustery cold on Saturday, January 13, to celebrate the grand opening of the Shop’s new building addition. Under construction since late March, 2017, the addition provides storage and a showroom for furniture and other large items that could not be accommodated in the shop’s existing quarters on High Street.
The new showroom already is well stocked with sale items, including kitchen tables and chairs, coffee tables and other furnishings.
“We’re ecstatic that we finally have this, and it’s going to be a big boom for Dorchester General Auxiliary financially,” said Diane McCarthy, Auxiliary president. “The community has been fantastic (with donations), and they’re so grateful for what we do.”
Operated by the Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary for the benefit of programs, equipment, services and patient care at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Dorchester, the Robin Hood Shop is located at 416 High Street in Cambridge and offers offers gently used men, women and children’s clothing, fashion accessories, jewelry, a variety of household items and furniture as well as toys and books. Donations are accepted during Shop hours, which are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
