Creating Efficiency for Better Patient Care

Shown in the new 2 East supply room are Chris Difatta, director Materials Management, Mary Collins, clinical nurse coordinator
2 East Multi-Specialty Care Unit and Tom Towers, operational excellence project specialist.

Operational Excellence recently completed a project on 2 East Multi-Specialty Unit at UM Shore Medical Center at Easton that was designed to help nurses spend less time searching for supplies.
“We accomplished this by creating two central supply closets on the unit and by creating a central location for equipment storage, reducing the time needed to search for supplies ,” says Tammy Curry, director. “Creating centralized supply rooms gives our nursing team members what they need, when they need it in an easily accessible location. Thank you to Mary Collins who requested the project andTom Towers who facilitated the project, working with Mary and Chris Difatta  to make it happen.”
Other projects designed to improve patient care and experience at UM Shore Regional Health are under way at the Cancer Center and Diagnostic and Imaging Center in Easton.
