Regina Volz Nominated for Baltimore Magazine Excellence in Nursing Award

Congratulations to Regina Volz, MSN, RN, CCRN, faculty/coordinator, UM Shore Regional Health Critical Care/Graduate University on her recent nomination for a 2017 Baltimore Magazine Excellence in Nursing Award. Nominated in the award program’s Nursing Education category, Volz is one of 10 nurses working in UMMS hospitals who received the honor of a nomination.
Volz, who has 30 years’ experience as s a staff nurse, critical care transport nurse and preceptor, primarily in adult critical care, transitioned two years ago to the Professional Nursing Practice Department’s Nurse Residency program, which provides management and support for novice nurses and nurses with limited acute care experience who are transitioning into the acute care environment. She also acts as liaison between UM SRH and affiliated colleges and universities who are providing educational opportunities to our employees. For the last 13 years, Volz has served as as an adjunct faculty member in the Chesapeake College/MGW Nursing Program, working with senior nursing students in their final clinical rotation.
Winners of the 2017 Baltimore Magazine Excellence in Nursing Award will be announced in early April and featured in the May issue of the magazine.
