UM SRH Filling Up With HEART as Sessions Progress

Just over 41 percent of UM Shore Regional Health team members have participated in HEART sessions, reports Christine Clarke, service excellence coach/trainer. “We’re moving along steadily and have had more seats to many sessions has helped get more staff in to several sessions, Clarke says.  “However, many team members who are not yet signed up for a session. The sessions are scheduled through March and many of them are still have plenty of room, so we want to get them filled up as soon as possible.”
Response to HEART has been overwhelmingly positive, Clarke adds. Wrote one staff member:
“I just wanted to compliment all involved on the HEART training I took … Although I always am a warm, outgoing person who tries to spike conversations, always welcomes my patients, and always speaks to anyone in the hallways. I was able to still take away a lot from this training and have reflected back on it with each patient that has come in my care since … I know we are all faced everyday with difficult patients, but because of these patients is why I have a job, but also why I wake up everyday and love the work that I do. If anything else this program has brought me closer to my patients, and job than I ever was.  Thank you all so much for taking the time to teach the rest of us and remind us what patient care is all about …”
