OD1International Overdose Awareness Day, which takes place each year on August 31,  is committed to providing a platform to acknowledge the grief felt by families and friends who have lost a loved one to overdose. The purpose is to raise awareness that the tragedy of overdose death is preventable and to share information with people of all ages and walks of life that will help save lives.
Shore Behavioral Health (SBH) will participate in a local observation of International Overdose Awareness Day set for Wednesday, August 31, 6-8 p.m. at St. Mark’s Methodist Church on Peach Blossom Road in Easton. This free event will feature a host of community organizations including SBH, Recovery for Shore, Mariah’s Mission Fund and Talbot Partnership, whose representatives
will be on hand to educate community members about the increasing incidence of drug overdose and death in our region; mental health and substance abuse disorders; and prevention, support and treatment resources available in our community.
