UMMS Mobility is coming to Shore Regional Health! UMMS Mobility, also known as “Zebra phones,” is a mobile device solution that is being implemented across University of Maryland Medical System to improve the clinical resources available for patient care. Please note that the Zebra devices will be replacing the existing Spectralink phones.
Next Steps:
Training and Implementation
If your department will be implementing Zebra phones, our Implementation Engineers will coordinate directly with the assigned point of contact for your department to hand out the Zebra phones on the dates below:
- UM Shore Emergency Center at Queenstown: Wednesday, September 18, 2024
- UM Shore Medical Center at Easton: Monday, September 23 to Tuesday, September 24
- UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown: Monday, September 30, 2024
All users receiving phones will be trained as the devices are distributed. For second shift and weekends, the UMMS Mobility Support Team will round back to cover training for shift changes or as requested. We are also happy to provide any in-service trainings as requested.
Log-in labs will be set up and available at UM Shore Medical Center at Easton via UMMS Mobility Team Rounding on Friday, September 20, 2024, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
What are log in labs?
- An UMMS Mobility team member will round to as many departments receiving devices as they can accommodate in the time allowed, and target users of the Zebra phones.
- This is an informal process that should take less than 3 minutes per user.
- This is not training. Training will be conducted during the implementation schedule noted above.
- During the log-in lab, team members will log into a device, set their PIN, and ensure success in logging into the Zebra phone and the applications loaded on the device.
- Prior to the log-in lab, team members are encouraged to review the online educational materials available HERE. The General Training Video can be viewed in about 15 minutes and contains a wealth of information for using the Zebra phone.
Support and Further Information
As noted above, training materials are available online at our published Intranet Resource page – UM Shore Regional Health Resources for UMMS Mobility (https://intra.umms.org/ummsmobility).
From Monday, September 23, through Monday, September 30, the UMMS Mobility team will be available to assist team members between 7 a.m. and 11:30 p.m., via Rounding. Support is also available to team members on Tiger Connect by messaging: SRH Zebra Support.
