Approximately 475 people came through the Queen Anne’s County Senior Summit on Friday May 17, 2024, at the Queen Anne’s County 4-H Park in Centreville. UM Shore Regional Health, UM Shore Medical Group, The Orthopedic Center and more than 65 other vendors and sponsors attended the event, with 90 tables for the seniors to visit. UM Shore Regional Health was a Gold Level Sponsor of the community event.

“It was great to be part the 2024 Senior Summit,” said Terry Satchell, RN, UM SRH Population Health Manager. “There was such a wide variety of vendors and resources available and it was great coming together in one location for the county’s senior population. I think everyone had a great time interacting with people as they came by our tables and asked questions, or just stopped to talk. This year, 475 people passed through the exhibit area. They were also treated to lunch, music and bingo throughout the day.”

UM SRH team members presented a variety of topics to local seniors, including advance directives, the Diabetes Support Group, the Virtual Stroke Support Group, multiple UM SMG practice specialties, the Primary Stroke Center and Rehabilitation Services, the UM Shore Emergency Center and Medical Pavilion at Queenstown, fall prevention, Make the Right Call: When to use the ED, Urgent Care or Your PCP, UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown’s Health Education classes, and My Chart.

The event was hosted by the Queen Anne’s County Area Agency on Aging.
