During April, free upcoming workplace violence training opportunities catered toward healthcare staff will be offered around the region, as follows:
- Tuesday, 4/9/24 at the Ridgely Fire Department, 101 Sunset Blvd, Ridgely, MD 21660, 12:30 – 4:30 pm,
- Wednesday, 4/10/24 at Tidal Health Peninsula Regional, 100 E. Carroll St, Salisbury, MD 21801, 12:30 – 4:30 pm
- Wednesday, 4/17/24 at the Kent County Community Center, 11041 Worton Rd, Worton, MD 12:30 – 4:30 pm
Provided by Risk, Threat, and Crisis Management (RTC, www.riskthreatcrisis.com), this one-day training titled “Risk Management & Violence Prevention” is designed for Inpatient Care Providers, Facilities Staff, and all healthcare professionals as a proactive approach to self-protection. The course has a variety of aspects including: discussion, role-playing, hands-on tactics, case studies, statistics and scenario-based segments.
Liabilities and what are considered reasonable and necessary response options will be covered, along with principles of risk management such as Situational Awareness, Preventative Measures, Managing Your Personal Space, Positioning, Communication, Escape Options and more.
