University of Maryland Memorial Hospital Foundation will host an informative seminar, “Workshop on Wills and Understanding the Probate Process” on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Queen Anne’s County Library, 121 S Commerce St, in Centreville.
Conducted by well-known local attorneys Patrick J. Fitzgerald, Esq. of Charles T. Capute LLC., and JoRhea Nagel Wright, Esq., of Armistead, Lee, Rust & Wright, P.A., they will discuss several topics, including:
- Why should I have a will? What happens if I die without a will?
- Will estate taxes take a major bite out of what I want to leave my family?
- Do I still need a will if my assets are held jointly with my spouse?
- How do I coordinate my will and my beneficiary designations with my overall estate plan?
- What is the purpose of the Register of Wills? What are the costs?
