It’s the fall season and time for the UMMS SRH FLU campaign. Each year FLU vaccination is mandatory in all UMMS facilities. Employee Health is tasked with administering the vaccine to all employees, providers, contract staff and volunteers who attend the clinics offered during a ten-week time frame. The clinics will run from October 1 – December 3, 2024. Everyone must be compliant (see Policy Stat UMMS Influenza Vaccination) by end of day on December 3, 2024.
Employee Health manages all these clinics with assistance from other available staff. This year there are clinics once a week in the Health Education Center Rooms C&D (see schedule below). Employee Health is also offering walk-ins to the department on all other days during regular business hours.
Employees, providers, contract staff and volunteers may also receive their vaccine from outside of the organization as long as proof of Flu vaccination is submitted to Employee Health through the EMR MyCority (further information to come) for compliance. There will be a dashboard made available to leaders to monitor compliance of their reports.
If anyone has a previously established medical or religious exemption for the Flu vaccine that process does not need to be repeated. Employee Health will be entering those exemptions into Employee Health’s new Electronic Medical record to record compliance.
The Flu vaccine this year is a Trivalent vaccine covering three different strains of Flu. High dose Flu vaccine will also be available for those people 65 years and older.
