Portfolio Platform Name Changes Announced

On August 15, UMMS will move away from the MyPortfolio and PortfolioMD names and will begin using the platform logos/names – MyChart and EpicCare Link – for patient and physician portals.

This change will allow for greater alignment with other health systems, and reduce confusion among patients and providers using these tools across multiple health care provider groups.

Facts about this change:

  • This name change has no impact on patient or physician login to the portals. Users do not need to create a new login to access either portal.
  • There is no impact to functionality with the portals. The user experience will remain unchanged.
  • The only change users will see is the removal of the MyPortfolio and PortfolioMD names and logos within the portals and within patient and physician communications.
  • New URLs have been established for accessing the portals (mychart.umms.org and eclink.umms.org). These new URLs are live and currently redirect to the existing portals. Redirects from the old URLs to the new URLs will ensure that all users reach the appropriate portal page. The redirects will be in place indefinitely.
  • This name change extends only to MyPortfolio (including MyPortfolio Bedside) and PortfolioMD and does NOT extend to other Epic applications or communications. There will be no change to how team members access or communicate about Epic applications within UMMS.
  • The updated branding will go live on the portals on August 15. Work is currently underway across various departments to update portal names and logos across all communication materials and channels throughout the organization.
  • Portal users will receive email communication in August to advise them of the change, affirm that their login and portal experience will not change, and encourage them to bookmark the new pages within their browsers.
