A special shout-out to emergency care team members throughout UM Shore Regional Health was forwarded to Compass and The Anchor by emergency physician Peter Biggane, MD. Dr. Biggane’s comments are as follows:
“I’d like to recognize our ED nurses, RT’s, and techs. I work at all four Eastern Shore locations on a frequent basis and I am amazed, every shift, at how our nurses and techs pulls together to care for our patients — despite often being understaffed while also working with an APP/Physician team who can be new/locums during our transition to USACS. There is no way we could keep this ship afloat without the effort that is often above/beyond, which our nurses and techs put in on a daily basis. Teamwork has been key, and I always know that I can go to the charge nurse, who will then pull everyone together to make things happen. I can’t imagine a day that goes by in the ED that our team doesn’t carry out amazing feats that often may go unrecognized because they are so focused on the task at hand and moving forward. Additionally, we have the best RT’s around; they have been instrumental in saving lives of all ages. I’m proud to work with such a great team.”
