Women’s Health Services Expand to Dorchester and Kent Counties

University of Maryland Shore Regional Health has expanded women’s health services to Dorchester and Kent counties.
Obstetricians and gynecologists (OBGYNs) and certified nurse midwives (CNMs) with UM Community Medical Group – Women’s Health (OBGYN) are now seeing patients at UM Shore Medical Pavilion at Chestertown, located at 126 Philosophers Terrace. Additionally, gynecological providers with UM Community Women’s Health (Gynecology) are now seeing patients at both the Chestertown pavilion and UM Shore Medical Pavilion at Dorchester, at 400 Byrn Street in Cambridge.
In addition to the care offered by gynecological, OBGYN and midwifery providers, Women’s Health services at UM Shore Regional Health include breast health services, offered by Roberta Lilly, MD, MPH, FACS, medical director of the Clark Comprehensive Breast Center in Easton, who sees patients in both Easton and Chestertown at the Leh Women’s Center at UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown; and continence and pelvic health services, offered by urogynecologist, R. Duane Cespedes, MD, at locations in Cambridge, Chestertown, Easton and Queenstown.
Jennifer Scott Dyott, MSN, CRNP, FNP-C, certified registered nurse practitioner with the Women’s Health gynecology practice, offers consultations and treatments at both locations, focusing on prevention, wellness and education related to conditions and diseases of the female reproductive system.
The gynecology practice with UM Community Medical Group – Women’s Health offers care to women from adolescence and young adulthood through menopause and beyond. Providers specialize in well-woman examination; breast and cervical cancer screening (PAP); preventive health screening; initial evaluation of urinary incontinence; menopausal management; contraceptive management and STD treatment and screening.
“Our practice is built on the belief that screening, early detection, treatment and education are vital in reaching and maintaining a healthy lifestyle,” comments Dyott. “My partners and I are committed to educating patients on a broad spectrum of women’s health topics to ensure that they are active participants in their own health care and should an issue arise, they have the knowledge to identify the problem and seek medical attention as soon as possible.”
The OBGYN providers specialize in pregnancy, childbirth, women’s reproductive organs and minimally invasive surgery to treat conditions such as uterine fibroids, endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome.  Certified nurse midwives are registered nurses offering care during pre-conception, pregnancy, delivery and postpartum, working hand-in-hand with OBGYNs to maintain the health and well-being of mother and baby. Providers with UM Community Medical Group – Women’s Health (OBGYN) are affiliated with the Birthing Center at UM Shore Medical Center at Easton.
“Expansion of women’s health services to Shore Medical Pavilion at Chestertown has enabled our team to offer more accessible prenatal and postpartum care to our female patients residing in the northern part of our five-county region,” remarks Aisha Siddiqui, MD, FACOG of UM Community Medical Group – Women’s Health (OBGYN) and medical director of UM Shore Regional Health’s Birthing Center. “Kent County residents who plan to have their babies at the Birthing Center in Easton can now enjoy the convenience of scheduling their office visits, leading up to and after childbirth, close to home.”
