Nearly New Shop Offers Father’s Day Raffle – 5/30-6/13, The raffle prize will include a dark gray, cashmere men’s sweater with retail tags attached for $300, and a $25 gift certificate to Lemon Leaf Café. Tickets are priced at $2.00 and may be purchased at the Chester River Hospital Center Auxiliary Gift Shop at UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown and the Nearly New Shop, located at 320 High Street in Chestertown. All proceeds from the raffle will benefit the UM Shore Medical Center in Chestertown. The drawing will be on 6/30. Transition to Wellness – Free workshops for breast cancer survivors and patients who are ending treatment.

The Cancer Moonshot: How to Follow Research and Clinical Trials – Tuesday, 6/13, 5pm, Cancer Center, Easton. Guest speakers: Nina Weisenborn, clinical trials nurse, and Bill Shrieves, pancreatic cancer survivor and member of the Pancreatic Cancer Advocacy Network. Discussion: Types of cancer research and funding, how research results become standardized treatment and the benefits of clinical trials. Chemo Brain: The Latest Science – Tuesday, 6/20, 5pm, Cancer Center, Easton. Guest speakers: Amy Beth Hellman, speech therapist, and Christine Allen, certified oncology dietitian. Discussion: Signs of chemo brain, what to discuss with your provider, coping at work, the importance of lifestyle change, benefits of speech therapy and tips for cognition and recall, and nutritional tips to boost cognitive function. Contact: 410-820-6800.

Recovery and Psychosocial Support
Rally for Recovery — Saturday, 6/3 – 3:30 p.m. Join Recovery for Shore, SBH Addictions Treatment and a host of community organizations and individual community advocates, as well as persons in recovery from substance use disorders and mental illness and their family and friends to show support for those in recovery and advocacy for recovery resources. Meet at Christ Church Easton on South Street and walk  to the Talbot County Courthouse for a brief rally, featuring Bonnie Scott, founder of Rising Above Disease, as guest speaker. before returning to Christ Church for the Alive at Five Service followed by fellowship and light-fare refreshments on the Church lawn.
