"UMMS U" To Replace Healthstream Effective Monday, October 2

UMMS U, the new learning management system for all UMMS entities, will go live on Monday, October 2 at 10 a.m.  UMMS U will replace Healthstream.
It is important for you to be aware of the following steps that we need to take to insure a successful launch.

  • Beginning on Friday, 9/29 at 12:01 a.m., access will no longer be available to the current Healthstream system.  This creates a 3-day period of time (9/29, 9/30, 10/1) where they will be no access to the Healthstream system.  Access to UMMS U will be available on 10/2 at 10 a.m.
  • Training in Progress on Healthstream – it is important for you to complete any training that you have started on the Healthstream system.  If you have started a course in Healthstream and do not finish it by the end of the day on 9/28, you will have to repeat it (from the beginning) in UMMS U. We are not able to move any training that is in progress. All completed training will be moved to UMMS U.

Why UMMS U?
UMMS U will provide all the functionality that we have today with Healthstream plus much more, which is why we are making this change. Some of the key features include:

  • A System-wide Approach – Our new system is “enterprise-wide”.  This gives us the ability to manage system-wide training needs in addition to local training needs.  A good example is being able to assign a training course to employees at different locations in the System.
  • A Better Learning Experience – UMMS U will allow us to significantly improve the quality of the e-learning (online) courses we provide and will also have the capability for virtual instructor led training.
  • Assigns and Tracks all Training in One Place – UMMS U makes it easy to assign and track all different types of learning, all of which will appear on the employee’s transcript.  This includes all training taken internally and externally; it also includes on-the-job training.

More information about accessing and using UMMS U will be shared in the coming weeks.
