New staff members have signed on in two key positions at UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown.
Kent County resident Gladys Peeples has joined the hospital as system secretary. Most recently, Peeples was admissions director for the former UM Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Chestertown since 2016. Previously, she worked for several years in customer service at USA Fulfillment. She has been active participant in Hope Fellowship’s community outreach programs and is a former volunteer at Kent County Humane.
Kaya Reed has joined the Chestertown team as food service manager. Reed began his career with Aramark in the Step To Leadership (S2L) program as an intern and was promoted into the Accelerate to Leadership (A2L) program after receiving his B.S. in tourism and hospitality management from Norfolk State University. As an A2L, Reed worked as food service manager at Northshore University Health System in Chicago, Illinois where he supported 850 beds across four campuses in patient services. He also spent time supporting West Jefferson, a 350-bed facility in New Orleans.
