UM Center for Diabetes & Endocrinology Welcomes New Lead Educator


BK Eshete joined the Diabetes and Endocrinology team in mid-December.

UM Center for Diabetes & Endocrinology has welcomed Beakal Eshete, BSN, RN, CDE, as lead educator, Trish Rosenberry, regional director, specialty clinics for UM Shore Regional Health has announced.
Eshete, who goes by “BK,” joined the Center team in mid-December. She most recently served as a nurse diabetes educator for the Inova Center for Wellness and Metabolic Health in Fairfax, Virginia, working with patients who have Type1 and Type 2 diabetes teaching diabetes self-management classes. Previously, she worked for Prince George’s Correctional Center Medical Unit caring for medical and psychiatric patients.
Eshete earned her associate degree in nursing from Montgomery College inTakoma Park, Maryland in 2012 and her RN-BSN degree from Chamberlain College of Nursing in Arlington, VA in 2015.
