Open Enrollment for Benefits: What You Need to Know

OPEN ENROLLMENT INFORMATION SESSIONS BEGIN NEXT WEEK!
The 2016 Benefit Guides have been mailed so watch your home mailbox for this helpful resource. Open Enrollment that begins on May 2.
To better assist staff in making changes to their benefits, HR is offering Information Sessions this coming week.  These sessions will include a short presentation after which you can ask your questions about  the available benefits and learn about the enrollment process BEFORE Open Enrollment begins.
Below is the schedule for these informational sessions:

BENEFITS ENROLLMENT: HELPFUL INFORMATION

  • Read your enrollment guide to learn about your benefit choices including Voluntary Benefits such as AFLAC.
  • If you want to change your health, dental, or vision plan, you must do so between May 2 and May 15.
  • If you want to add or remove dependents from any of your plans, you must do so between May 2 and May 15.
  • If you are adding dependents for the first time, you must submit documentation no later than June 17, 2016, or they will not have coverage on July 1.
  • If you want to increase your supplemental life insurance benefit, you must apply between May 2 and May 15.
  • Make sure you check your beneficiary selections – you may change them now.
  • Elect a health and/or dependent care FSA – ENROLLMENT IS REQUIRED EVERY YEAR
  • If you make any changes to your benefits, confirm your elections and print your enrollment confirmation.
  • Happy with your health, dental, and vision plans? You don’t need to do anything!

Look what’s new for 2016:

  • New pharmacy benefit manager and mail order service provider – CVS/Caremark
  • Pick up 90 day supply maintenance medications at CVS pharmacies or use CVS/Caremark mail-order service – same copays as UMMS pharmacies
  • New health/prescription cards will be issued
  • New FSA/HSA administrator – Innovative Health Services
  • MRI’s, CT and PET Scans will require pre-certification
  • Domestic Partner coverage ends 6/30/2016

REMEMBER, the annual enrollment deadline is May 15, 2016.
