Jeanie Scott Named Oncology Services Manager

Jeanie Scott has been promoted to the position of manager, Oncology Services at University of Maryland Shore Regional Health, Brian Leutner, Oncology Services executive director has announced.

Scott has been on the staff of UM Shore Regional Health since 1999, and joined the Cancer Center team in 2000 as radiation secretary, In 2002, she became the Center’s tumor registrar, following patients with reportable diagnoses to the State of Maryland and Commission on Cancer, and retrieving and analyzing data to be disseminated in accordance with professional ethics.

In 2012, Scott was promoted to cancer registry coordinator overseeing all aspects of the ACoS-accredited Cancer Program and maintaining UM Shore Regional Health’s cancer registry and mandated cancer data reporting. She became operations coordinator for the Cancer Center in 2016, which expanded her duties to include day to day operations of the cancer center; management of personnel and material resources; development and evaluation of strategies to enhance the patient experience; and collaboration with hospital administrators, area health care providers and external agencies. Scott is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in health information management from Walden University and anticipates graduation in 2019.

We are fortunate to have her in this important leadership role at the Cancer Center.”
