UPDATE –  ANNUAL HEALTH EDUCATION

In other news from HR, UM Shore Regional Health’s 2nd Annual Education Fair was held last week, one day each at UM Shore Medical Centers at Chestertown, Dorchester and Easton. This year was a huge success as 160 team members elected to satisfy the mandatory Annual Education requirement by attending an Education Fair.
The HR team extends special thanks to all the department leaders who presented creative, informative job aides during the fair in addition to manning their resource tables at all three facilities.
If you missed the Annual Education Fairs this time around, please keep in mind that in partnership with UMMS, UM SRH recognizes the responsibility we have to provide compliance training for team members to satisfy and maintain state regulations, accreditation requirements, and professional standards.

In accordance with the Annual Training Policy (HR-09), any individual who fails to complete training by the deadline will be issued a Final Written Warning and placed on unpaid leave. Once on unpaid leave, the employee has 14 days to complete Annual Training before they are separated from employment.

Topics covered in HealthStream Annual Education are:
Corporate Compliance and Regulation
Patient Experience
Diversity and Workplace Environment
Infection Control
Emergency Preparedness
General Safety
Fire Safety, Safety Codes and Security
The Annual Education window for 2017 opened April 1 and closes June 30 for all SRH employees, contract staff and special groups. All required training must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on June 30, 2017.
