"Giving Tuesdays" Celebrated by Chester River, Dorchester and Memorial Hospital Foundations

University of Maryland Shore Regional Health’s foundations are joining together to promote “Giving Tuesday,” a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.
By participating in Giving Tuesday, celebrated locally this year on each Tuesday throughout the months of November and December, the three foundations that support patient care at UM Shore Regional Health — Chester River Health Foundation, Dorchester General Hospital Foundation and Memorial Hospital Foundation — hope to raise awareness of the vital role philanthropy plays in providing local health care and to encourage community members to make a donation to benefit patient care at their local hospitals and outpatient sites before the end of the calendar year.
The three foundations rely on support from their local communities to continue to improve and upgrade their local hospital’s equipment and technology for the benefit of patient care. In addition to funding equipment purchases for the hospitals and various outpatient sites in their respective communities, donations to the donations support advanced education and training needs of hospital staff through partial and full scholarships
