“Everyday Heroes” Honored by UM Memorial Hospital Foundation

Three physicians — Salvatore Verteramo, MD, Frank Ciocci, MD, and Ramesh Kolli, MD– and two nurses — Brittany Russell, RN and Stella Hubbard, RN –are the latest  team members to be honored as Everyday Heroes by the University of Maryland Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Dr. Ciocci and Dr. Verteramo were recognized as Everyday Heroes in December by the grateful wife of a patient who appreciated her husband’s care in the Emergency Department of UM Shore Medical Center at Easton and the doctor’s referral to a specialist who could address his particular medical issue.

Ramesh Kolli, MD and Stella Hubbard, RN, both serving on the Telemetry Unit at UM Shore Medical Center at Easton, were recognized as Everyday Heroes by an appreciative patient who cited the difference they made in the quality of his care during a recent hospital stay.

Brittany Russell, RN was recognized as an Everyday Hero by a grateful patient while giving exceptional care in Same Day Surgery at UM Shore Medical Center at Easton.
The Everyday Hero program provides patients, visitors and staff members with the opportunity to recognize and thank any UM Shore Regional Health team members who made a positive difference in a hospital visit or stay, by making a financial contribution of any size to the appropriate foundation.  Funds received are used for equipment, capital improvements and staff education in the departments in which the honored team member/s work.
