The UMMS Employee Engagement Survey, which has been open for three weeks and was originally set to close this coming Sunday, will remain open until Friday, October 7, Dan Lessard, director of Human Resources, has announced.
Lessard reports that as of Thursday, September 29, the rate of survey participation among UM Shore Regional Health employees is 56 percent. Of the five UMMS entities for whom the survey is being conducted, UM SRH is “in the middle of the pack” in terms of participation. (The highest rate is 65 percent and the lowest is 52 percent.)
surveychallengeTHIS JUST IN! Human Resources is offering a challenge to increase survey participation! Any unit or workgroup that achieves 100 percent participation by next Friday will be treated to either a pizza party OR an ice cream party (depending on their choice. Encourage your co-workers to fill out their surveys ASAP so that your unit/work group doesn’t miss out!
“We are very encouraged by Shore Regional Health employees’ response rate so far but we really hope to reach 80 percent,” Lessard says, noting that while some departments have very high levels of participation, others are well below the overall 56 percent rate. “We really want to hear from all our team members and to have all departments well represented, whether it’s to share perceptions of challenges we face or issues that need to be addressed, or to highlight positives in our work environment.”
Lessard also emphasized the confidentiality of the survey. “The data is collected by the Advisory Board Company and we receive no identifying information from them in terms of employee responses,” he says. “The survey is a chance to be heard and to contribute to the betterment of our organization, and now there are a few more days time to complete it.”
