Church Hill Elementary Students Decorate Crash Cart for Pediatric Care

Team-StrengthCHES crashcart 4 groupSecond graders at Church Hill Elementary School in Church Hill put their artistic talents and their study of the artist, Vincent Van Gogh, to good use this spring with a very special project — to paint a “crash cart” for use in pediatric care at UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown. With the school’s art teacher, Cassie Hosler, the students transformed a dull, gray metal crash cart into a thing of beauty, reminiscent of Van Gogh’s famous “starry night” painting. “It took a lot of paint,” noted one of the budding artists. “We put it on really thick so it won’t peel off and will keep looking beautiful for a long time.”
