Pictured left to right are: Scott Burleson, executive director, UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown; Mary Alice Vanhoy, manager, Emergency Department, UM SMC at Chestertown and UM Shore Emergency Center at Queenstown; Amy Iseman, RN; Alexandra Totten; Eric Abbott, PA; Rebecca King, BSN, RN, Chestertown Emergency Department clinical coordinator; and Eric Maniago, MD, medical director, Chestertown Emergency Department.

A recent, fluke accident at home necessitated  a visit the Emergency Department at Shore Medical Center at Chestertown for Alexandra Totten.  She says she was amazed and very impressed with the new ED but more important, was so appreciative of the exceptionally professional and compassionate care she received from Amy Iseman, RN, and Erick Abbott, PA, that she made a donation in their honor and today, recognized them as her Everyday Heroes.
The Everyday Hero program provides patients, visitors and staff members with the opportunity to recognize and thank any UM Shore Regional Health staff member or team who has made a positive difference in a visit or stay by making a charitable contribution of any size to the UM Chester River Health Foundation. Funds received through the Everyday Hero program help pay for equipment, capital improvements and staff education.
