Sleep Center at UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown Gets Upgrades

The newly upgraded sleep lab at UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown provides patient comfort and state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment.

The sleep center at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown is now open and being operated by the UM Shore Regional Health Sleep Disorders Center.

The Chestertown facility, which includes two patient rooms in a home-like setting, has been equipped with a $60,000 upgrade including new diagnostic equipment that is consistent with all UM Shore Regional Sleep Disorders Center facilities. Types of studies performed at the Chestertown sleep lab include diagnostic studies for sleep apnea, and CPAP titration studies. For patient comfort, each room has a Sleep Number® bed and a private bathroom with shower.

“We’re excited to have our team working at the sleep lab in Chestertown,” said Bilal Saulat, MD, medical director of the UM Shore Regional Sleep Disorders Center. “Quality sleep is increasingly recognized as essential to overall health, and we’re committed to offering patients state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment.”

The UM Shore Regional Sleep Disorders Center is staffed by a team of board certified physicians and registered polysomnography technologists. The Center offers a comprehensive range of services at its diagnostic sleep centers at UM Shore Medical Center at Dorchester in Cambridge, UM Shore Medical Center at Easton and UM Shore Medical Pavilion in Queenstown.
