Enjoy America’s Pastime With Fellow UMMS Employees

oriole cropped

As cooler weather sets in and the days get shorter, the professional baseball season is also winding down.  But for UMMS and its affiliate employees, there’s still time for a fun and affordable night at the ballpark, as three “UMMS Employee Nights” are scheduled for Oriole games against the Toronto Blue Jays at Camden Yards in Baltimore. The dates are:

Tuesday, September 24 , Wednesday, September 25 and Thursday, September 26, 7:05 pm

Thursday is Fan Appreciation Night — The first 10,000 fans over 15 years of age will receive a free t-shirt!

There are generous ticket price discounts for UMMS employees all three nights. UMMS discount seats are being sold in designated sections of Upper Reserve, Lower Reserve, Left Field Box and Lower Box, with a price range from $9 to $32, plus a 10 percent service charge per ticket.

These discount tickets must be purchased online, in advance, as follow: http://www.orioles.com/tix/medicalsytememployee.

For more information or accessibility seating, call 1-888-848-BIRD and ask for the Ticket Services Team.

Maryland Food Bank’s September Food Drive Needs Your Help to Stop Hunger

Maryland Food Bbank logo

Sad to say, but one in seven Marylanders does not get sufficient food on a regular basis. Thanks to the efforts of Cindy Jones, CPC, Clinical Information Analyst at UM Shore Medical Center at Easton, Shore Regional Health employees will be able to donate to the Maryland Food Bank’s September drive by bringing their donations to work. Says Jones, “Plans are in progress now to establish drop-off locations at the medical centers and other locations in Cambridge, Chestertown, Easton and Queenstown — so be on the lookout next week for donation boxes and posters.”

At the end of the month, Maryland State Police will pick up the donations for delivery to Maryland Food Bank. Canned and boxed items, dry goods as well as food, are accepted — no glass containers and no medicines. If you would like to help Jones with this project, contact her at 410-822-1000, ext. 5984.
