“Caring for Facilities, Caring for Patients” is the theme of 2017 National Health Care Facilities & Engineering Week , October 22-28, according to Michelle Kirk,  director of Facilities Management for UM Shore Regional Health.

The campaign encourages health care workers to take the time to recognize their colleagues in plant operations for all they do to optimize the health care physical environment.
“Our plant operations staff are important members of the Shore Regional health care team – they keep our facilities operational, safe, and efficient,” says Kirk. “Because of the work they do, there is power, running water, and a clean, comfortable, and safe healing environment for all who come through the doors of our hospitals and outpatient facilities. On a personal note, I am very grateful for the hard work and dedication of our plant ops team, they are very committed to our patients and visitors, and also to their fellow team members in all departments.”
