Above & Beyond

The following reports from patients and family members reaffirm our staff’s commitment
to putting our patients’ needs first. Please take a minute to say THANKS!

The Cancer Center team received this note from a patient’s daughter in appreciation for their support in helping her get ready for college:

Dear Everyone at the Cancer Center,
I would like to thank you for getting together and getting me the various gift cards and the wallet, I really appreciate this thoughtful gesture and even thinking about me. I would also like say a very special thank you for everything you have done in helping my mother get through her treatment and always being there for her. I really appreciate all the kindness you have given our family.

Thanks to Andrea, my physical therapist from Chester River Home Care, for being that breath of fresh air and gently encouraging me through some painful moments to get me to the point of being released with a good grade. If I ever need a physical therapist in the future, I will know where to come!

I cannot imagine a more efficient, caring atmosphere in which to have to undergo surgery. . . at the Ambulatory Surgery Center in Easton, the emphasis is on caring.  Thank you so much!

At UM Shore Emergency Center at Queenstown, Carolyn was the nurse that treated me. She was very caring. Overall I had a good experience – I was impressed by the amount of time and detail the doctor went into explaining what was going on and his thinking.

At UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown, I was very impressed on how clean everything was, how fast they took me in, how nice I was treated – everything was explained to me in detail – the medicine – my bloodwork – everyone was very kind to me.  I would highly recommend the hospital.

My visit to the Dorchester Emergency Department was the best hospital experience I have had in the two years I have been dealing with cancer. Without asking, the staff brought chairs in for us. I became nauseous and vomited, and they were very kind as I was embarrassed. They made everyone feel cared for as well as me, the patient.
